What is all this I hear about LED therapy being the wave of the future?

LED therapy was discovered by NASA and many studies have been done by the National Institute of Health.

These studies have shown up to 200% increases in Collagen production, re-tightening of the elastin layer, reversal of photo-aging, reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation issues, rosacea, surgical recovery, and a synergistic benefit when used in combination with most aesthetic therapies such as microdermabrasion, and microneedling and laser techniques.

Localized LED Light Therapy increases the size, density and effectiveness of the body’s energy production making more total and more powerful individual mitochondria. It increases vascularization and circulation resulting in increased oxygenation, nutrient transfer and detoxification, reduces inflammation and repairs nerve fibers along with a series of aesthetic benefits…and it does so without side effects.

LED light therapy can alleviate or diminish a wide range of skin conditions, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne
  • Blemishes
  • Hypo-pigmentation
  • Hyper-pigmentation
  • Irritated skin
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Stretch marks
  • Scars

Led therapy is now coming to Refine in the beginning of 2016 with the state-of-the-art Dermaglow Multiwave Deluxe which has 1716 LEDs and also includes IR (infrared) which combatsthe signs of aging by promoting healing and replenishment of dermal and epidermal cells.

What’s this I hear about IPL resulting in… younger skin?!

Answer: “Before the New Year, I was lucky enough to visit the 22nd Annual Congress of the American Academy of Anti-aging and Aesthetic Medicine. A very fun experience with SO much to learn! I spent an entire day hearing the latest in Laser and Light therapies and that was where the game changer entered the scene. It seems that for years, Aesthetic Physicians have been quietly noticing something in their patients who were receiving regular IPL photo facials several times a year. Their skin was not appearing to age! This is not to say that there were no other signs of aging but their SKIN, over the course of 10 years or more, appeared unchanged or perhaps even younger. Why? Scientific studies began and the results were no less that amazing. First of all, the skin, histologically (under a microscope) had characteristics of younger skin, the age of the skin when treatments were started. Also, gene studies showed that the gene expression in these skin cells looked more like young skin than older. Aging was not gone but dramatically reduced. This was happening in all the patients studied who had been receiving IPL photo facials three-four times a year on a regular schedule.” (to be continued…)
